What is the Shipping & Handling Fee?
On and from 8 March 2022, Grays has introduced a new fee (called a ‘Shipping & Handling Fee’) for all invoices produced that covers our 'shipping & handling' related costs associated with the item sold.
The fee will calculate when you enter the confirm bid stage of the bidding process or buy confirmation page for ‘buy now’ items.
The fee is 1% of the total invoice fee or $1 for invoices less than $100 (GST applicable pending Auction setup).
Note, this fee is subject to change and may be reviewed by the business.
Does my item come with insurance? what's covered?
No – however, we have purchased insurance to cover our liability for damage caused during delivery of your item by Grays.
You should report any damage events to Grays immediately if, after delivery, you identify damage to the goods. We will assess the damage and determine whether we can compensate you for the loss or damage to the item.
You are not able to claim directly under Grays’ insurance policy for loss or damage to your items because the insurance is held by Grays as the insured party.
Can I have a copy of the policy/product disclosure statement for the insurance?
There is no Product Disclosure Statement available because the insurance is not purchased by you at the point of sale. The insurance policy is held by Grays and covers all consignments it ships to customers.
The policy is only accessible by Grays to cover claims for damage which are caused by Grays whilst the goods are in our care, custody and control (i.e. during delivery).
My item has undescribed damage when collected/ upon arrival. who should I contact?
Please contact Grays customer service on 1300 362 536 or customerservice@grays.com.au in the event that:
- Your item has been lost in transit;
- Your item arrives damaged on delivery;
Grays will assess your claim and let you know if we can pay you any compensation for the damage. Otherwise, we may refer your claim to a third party, such as the carrier’s agent, who may be able to deal with your claim under their policy.
